Game Designer

Whimsy Games is an outsourcing game development company known for creating innovative and entertaining games for various platforms. With a focus on creativity, Whimsy Games constantly explores new ideas and pushes game development’s boundaries. In the next few years, we are aiming to create bestsellers and become a respectable partner for global GameDev companies.

Now we are looking for a talented Game Designer for full-time project cooperation (1-2 months or more).

Priority will be given to Ukrainian designers.

На какие задачи (обязанности)?

• Create game concepts aligned with client requirements and market trends.

• Develop GDD outlining gameplay mechanics, features, and unique selling points.

• Design core gameplay mechanics, rules, and systems that create an enjoyable and balanced player experience.

• Balance difficulty curves and pacing to maintain player engagement.

• Collaborate with CW and artists to create a cohesive narrative experience.

• Create intuitive and user-friendly interfaces that facilitate smooth player interaction, seamless navigation, and clear feedback.

• Develop rapid prototypes to test gameplay concepts and mechanics.

• Provide guidance to the Team to ensure cohesive aesthetics and atmosphere.

• Ensure clear communication of design intent to development teams.

• Implement changes based on data-driven insights.

Какого профессионала ищем?

• Bachelor’s degree in Game Design, Computer Science, or related field.

• Proven experience a minimum of 2 years in game design, focusing on level design and gameplay mechanics.

• Upper-intermediate level of English (written and spoken)

• Strong proficiency in creating and interpreting Game Design Documents (GDD).

• Proficient in rapid prototyping tools and techniques.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

• Knowledge of current market trends and player preferences in the gaming industry.

• Experience with data analysis and using insights to drive design decisions.

• Passion for gaming and a drive to create immersive and memorable player experiences.

• Solid knowledge of creating engaging and balanced gameplay spaces, with a keen eye for level flow, pacing, and player experience

• Focus on player-centric design, ensuring that levels provide a satisfying and immersive experience for players, regardless of their skill level
