Backend Developer (Java + GO)

Farcana is looking for a talented  Backend Developer (Go+Java) to join our innovative startup in the gaming industry. We are developing a third-person arena shooter for PC, utilizing blockchain technology.
In this role, you'll work on a game server that processes hundreds of thousands of messages per second, as well as other infrastructure components, alongside a highly experienced team of engineers. We are open to candidates with varying levels of experience and welcome applications from Junior to Senior engineers!

For which tasks (responsibilities)?

• Participate in the development of a multiplayer shooter game server

• Writing unit tests, and integration tests to ensure code quality

• Collaborating with other technical teams (Client UE| Analytics| QA)

• Documentation of development processes and system architecture

• Take part in designing software systems

What kind of professional are we looking for?

• At least 1 year of commercial experience

• Proficiency in Java and/or Go, with the willingness to learn the other if needed

• Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures

• Experience working with databases (PostgreSQL or other RDBMS)

• Familiarity with Linux, build systems, and package managers

• Experience with Docker

• Knowledge of design patterns and the ability to apply them effectively (e.g., SOLID, DDD)

• Fluency in Russian and English at an intermediate level is mandatory

Would nice to have:

• Work experience, including programming experience in Java/ any JVM language

• Knowledge of Apache Flink

• Familiarity with scripting and scripting languages (Lua/Fort/Lisp/Python)

• Experience with in-memory caches (Dragonfly, Redis, Memcached)

• Understanding of gRPC
